Using Salesforce® Deployment to Send Survey Reminders
Often a Salesforce report-based deployment (One-time deployment or Scheduled Deployment) of a Clicktools survey is the best way to get your survey to your clients. This does not mean that you cannot do a follow-up reminder; it just means that you will need to take steps to make that process easier to accomplish.
You can prepare for this by adding one custom date field to either your Account or Contact record. You could call the field “Last Survey Date,” but you might find something better suited to your own use.
When you build your survey mapping, you update this custom field at the same time that the data is being written for your survey by adding a mapping section to Update Existing Contact. This example uses the built-in capacity of passing the Completion Date into the custom field “Last Survey Date.”
You now have a field in Salesforce that you can use in future deployments to help prevent over-requesting information from your clients. You could use this new field as the Time Frame filter within your Salesforce report or as a custom filter added to a report.
Or, you could use it as a custom filter.
With this new field in place, you can now set up a Salesforce Scheduled Deploy to use as a reminder deployment with its own Salesforce email template. This helps clients realize that this is a follow-up request.
