September '06 Functionality Enhancements
In addition to major performance improvements around filtering, the following outlines the new functionality available in the September '06 release:
  • Timezones - a user can select their local timezone. Previously all times were GMT. Organisation default timezone and language can now be set by Principals - newly created users for the organisation will use these defaults. You can change your timezone from the Account->Preferences tab.
  • One-click Drill-down - select question options in results to instantly drill down on that option. Any number of options or answers may be selected to add to the filter, the filter can then be edited and saved. This works for all question types, in the case of text, essay, numeric etc the filter is added from the Full display. This also works for a crosstab where clicking any element creates the 2 filter components necessary and adds them to the filter.
  • Hour components in date filter - Time as well as date can now be specified in a date filter. This allows more accurate and powerful date filtering. Similarly start and close dates in surveys contain an hour component.
  • More response data on Surveys page - Entered, responded and hidden statistics are displayed on the top level by each survey instance in the Surveys page. This allows for easier survey management by providing this summary data at this level.

The following is specific to users of the Clicktools for AppExchange Salesforce CRM integration:

  • Mapping into every Salesforce data type - You can map every Clicktools question type into Salesforce. Previously it was not possible to populate a Salesforce multipicklist from a Clicktools checkbox, this is now available.
  • Sync Date available against every response - The time and date that a response was synchronised (if any) is displayed against every response. In addition the last sync date is displayed against each survey instance.
  • Empty responses are not synchronised - Creation of a new object where no responses have been provided will not create an empty object in Salesforce, the response will be marked as sync'ed however. If you have a mapping that attempts to create a reference to this empty object this will fail; use required fields in your surveys to avoid this.
  • Sync, Mapping and Deployment obey security settings - The availability of a survey instance for sync'ing, mapping and deployment on the Salesforce tab is determined by your access to the folder that the survey is contained in.
  • Fixed Text value available in mapping - You have the option of populating a Salesforce field with your specified text. You could use this to refer to a Salesforce object id to relate newly created objects to a specific object.
  • Printable Link available in mapping - In addition to the editable and readonly link options there is a third link that allows you to open a version of the survey response with formatting removed suitable for immediate printing.
All existing functionality remains unaffected and the above are additions and improvements and are available now.
