In 2001, as the dotcom boom turned to bust, three Brits decided to start a dotcom business. Good thinking! But oddly enough, an idea to launch a portal for managers seeking to improve performance (the original Clicktools) fit a real need. This solution offered a series of organizational diagnostics such as team effectiveness, customer focus, and leadership capability.
In these early days, one customer asked if they could use Clicktools to conduct a customer survey. Of course, the answer was yes. After completing a number of customer and employee surveys, we built an application to allow users to create their own surveys and report on results. The Clicktools customer feedback tool was born.
We developed the first point-and-click integration of surveys to CRM and became the first customer feedback software to integrate with Salesforce™ and became an original member of the AppExchange®. In 2008, Clicktools was also the first survey software to integrate with Oracle CRM On Demand and became the first survey provider to include a Business Analytics engine with an out-of-the-box product.
Over the past 13 years, we’ve watched our customers creatively use Clicktools to collect feedback via web forms of all kinds as well as call scripts. Surveys were just a starting point for many smart businesses striving to request and respond to feedback across the entire customer journey. This vision continues to expand.
